Get ready to laugh as the Desperate Redneck Housewife returns to tell her fairy tale, “Ain’t Love Grand?”, to audiences across the Rio Grande Valley this winter. Myrna Hunt is back to present a 100 percent fact-free comedy about love, marriage and raising kids.
Bouncy and vivacious, Hunt keeps audiences laughing as she explains the antics of marriage and raising a family. She uses a wide-screen television that shows video footage of her “Ode to Mom,” a tribute to the phases a mom goes through with her child during a 24-hour period.
Hunt’s career began at age six singing in church choirs as part of the Blackwood Quartet Family of singers. Hunt taught vocal, performance and choreography to many of the Miss Texas/Miss America students over a period of 20 years. Her true talent is making people laugh.
She was invited to perform at President George Bush Sr.’s Inaugural Ball, and for clients such as IBM, General Motors and the Texas State Society. She worked with celebrities such as Leann Rimes, Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck, the Gatlin Brothers, Bob Hope and Red Skelton.
Hunt can be seen at Citrus Valley, at 6:30 on January 6; Bentsen Grove, January 9; Alamo Rec-Vec at 6:30 p.m. on January 10; Siesta Village, January 11; Texas Trails, January 12; and Pine to Palm, January 16.
