International Travel Show coming to McAllen

The McAllen International Travel Show returns to McAllen on Friday and Saturday, January 4-5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The new McAllen Convention Center at the intersection of Expressway 83 and Ware Road will be the setting for this year’s show which will house more exhibits and more entertainment than ever.

Booths will include exhibits by local travel vendors such as Sanborns, Viva Mexico Tours, Go with Jo Tours and Cruises by Dee. There will be exhibits from cities across the Valley around the state which will offer information on sites and events.

Texas Parks and Wildlife will also have a booth on things to see and do in Texas, along with organizations such as Texas Travel Trails, Texas Brazos Trails and Texas Forest Trails.

Several states will sponsor booths on what to see and do in their states while traveling to the Valley or home including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Louisiana.

In addition there are booths from a variety of locations in Mexico including Queretaro, Nuevo Leon, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Tamaulipas, Coahuila and Veracruz to entice visitors to travel south of the border.

If cruises are a favorite pastime when not in the Valley, Carnival Cruises, Viking River Cruises, Princess Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruises will have offerings to showcase their up and coming cruises to visitors.

There is also an impressive line-up of entertainment planned throughout the day on the ballroom stage. Performers include Michael and Rebecca Roberts performing traditional Native American dances, the Silverstones swinging through the Big Band Era. Rey Duran performing his Ballet Andaluz Flamenco, the Ballet Folklorico of Monterrey performing traditional folk dancing of Mexico, and George Sankey singing favorites from traditional country music. Other performers include Aland Essie Morris, Pablo Cortez.
