Randy Newman's Ozark Jubilee to tour Valley

Once again this year one of the most popular shows in Branson, Missouri will be swinging through the Rio Grande Valley entertaining Winter Texans. Randy Newman and the Ozark Jubilee will perform here February 19, 20 and 21.

Newman, in the character of Doofus Doolittle, is considered to be one of the funniest comedians anywhere. Newman will bring his hillbilly style entertainment to the first portion of his show.

But not only is Newman one of the most popular Branson comedians, he is a gifted violinist, known for world-class performances. Newman has played with many well-known performers such as Mel Tillis, Ronnie Milsap, and Ray Price.

Ozark Jubilee is a fast-paced, comedy show with country standards, bluegrass and gospel music. The show is considered to be something between "Hee Haw" and "Larry the Cable Guy."

Newman brings first class entertainers on the road with him.

Rick McCuen, on the bass guitar, is new to the show this year. McCuen has worked with a number of artists from Silver Dollar City including Jim Stafford and George Jones. He is also a tremendous vocalist.

Dave Watson will be filling the male vocalist spot. He sings a wide range of styles.

Rachelle Lamb will be female vocalist. Newman said although she is a newcomer to Branson, she is probably as good of a vocalist as he has seen in his 30 years in Branson.

Jory Clayton, music director, has been with Ozark Jubilee 10 years. He plays piano, keyboard, synthesizer and arranges music for the band. In the past, Clayton has worked with a number of Nashville artists.

"This is the best all-round group of artists I have ever assembled," said Newman, promising that audiences will be talking about Ozark Jubilee for a long time to come.
