Bible Alive Theater is once again returning to the Rio Grande Valley. Myra Green is an accomplished singer, actress, Bible teacher, and conference speaker who has written four Bible musicals, and will be presenting all four in the new auditorium at Valley Baptist Retreat Center in Mission, Jan. 23and 30 and Feb. 6 and 13.
Every Friday night at 7 p.m. She will present a different Bible character. Green makes each character come alive in drama and song. Admission to these presentations is free. She also offers every listener a free copy of the musical on CD; one of them is on DVD.
Green has made numerous radio and TV appearances, and has been giving presentations since 1995. She and her husband/manager Clif are the cofounders of Bible Alive Theater. They are full time, unaffiliated, cross-denominational missionaries since 2002 depending upon free will donations. They live in Glorieta, New Mexico and travel throughout the country.
Green will be presenting, “Ruth, the Redeemer’s Bride,” “Hannah’s Song,” “Mary’s Christmas Story,” and “The Woman at the Well.” Her son Allen Green and Alison Sanderson have written most of the music for piano and perform on the sound tracks. The style of music is easy to listen to, and popular with every age group. The musicals are approximately 45 minutes long.
Green said, “The American culture is a culture of entertainment. Recent surveys have shown that movies and theater now influence people more than any other form of media. As Christians in ministry we should understand the culture and use this venue as a way to reach people for Jesus Christ. We have caught this vision, and God has given us this challenge, to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Bible Alive Theater.
