The Weslaco Museum at 500 S. Texas will have a “Valentine Lovers Brunch” on Tuesday, February 14, beginning at 11 a.m.  There will be good food a vintage display of Valentine cards, and entertainment by M&G Music Duo.  There will be a classic film at the end for those who would like to stay and enjoy it.

Malina Regalado and Gabriela Mendoza, both 20, form the music duo.  They are students from South Texas College who met in the choral program at Edinburg High School.  Upon graduation from EHS in 2009, they had the wonderful opportunity to perform with the Edinburg Chorale on its first international tour through Munich, Germany and Salzburg and Vienna, Austria under the direction of D. Alvarez.

Since, Malina and Gabriela have combined their talents to perform in churches, at weddings, quinceneras and other social functions, and they hope to continue touching others with their love of music.

Some of the delicious food served will be heart-shaped pancakes, parmesan hash brown cups, mini muffins, fresh fruit and a different variety of good elegant food. The menu is being designed by Nifty Cakes catering.

The specialty drink will be mimosas. Other drinks will be served as well.

Tickets for this Valentine’s Day event are $25 per couple, or $12 for individuals.  This special event is not just for lovers, but for anyone who wants to celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends and family.

The Weslaco Museum is hosting this event as part of a fundraising effort to bring more programming and events to the community.

The Weslaco Museum is open at 500 S. Texas Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Regular admission is $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens; $2 for students 5-17; free to members, children 5 and under, and on first Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
