The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce hosts Winter Texan Coffee Bar inside the Visitor Center Lobby from November to March. Free coffee and pastries, Monday – Friday. Winter Texans can come in and enjoy one of several educational movies we have on the RGV Sugar Growers, Historic Ranches of the RGV and nature videos.

February 13 – The Edinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) along with the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce (ECOC) will host its annual Winter Texan Appreciation Day at the Edinburg Activity Center located at 123 Palm Drive. There will be plenty of food, fun, live music and door prizes. The event will run from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and tickets are only $5. Your purchase includes live music; brisket sandwich, border buttermilk and a chance to win door prizes.

February 13 – Latin dance instructor, Solenne Reyna will be sharing her passion for dance at Quinta Mazatlan at 6 p.m. as the presenter for Nights at the Mansion. She will be leading a Valentine’s Salsa Night as she teaches her “Beginners Bachata Class” for couples and singles alike.

February 15 – The International Museum of Arts and Science (IMAS) will hold a Winter Workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Valerie Escamilla will present Milagros Hoop Art. Participants will learn about the folk art and create a mixed media work of art using Milagros, felt, and embroidery. The workshop is $10 and limited to 15 participants. All workshops include general admission on the day of the workshop. Supplies are provided. The museum is located at the intersection of Bicentennial Way and Nolana Ave. at 1900 W. Nolana in McAllen. February 16 – RGV Concert Band will hold a concert at Enchanted Valley Ranch in Mission at 2 p.m.

February 17 – McAllen High School Pan O’Steel Drum Show will be held at Tropic Winds RV Resort, 1501 N. Loop 499, in Harlingen from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 per person.

February 18 – Creative Quilters of Casa Del Valle Park in Alamo are holding their 15th Annual Quilt Show from 12 to 3 p.m. Challenge this year was solid colors. There will be a $1 donation at the door. Refreshments, treats, vendors, door prizes and demonstrations will be available. Opportunity quilt tickets available from members at door $10 or six for $5. Veteran quilts will be given out at 12:30 p.m.

February 21-23 – The 24th Annual SPI Market Days will be held at the South Padre Island Convention Center. There will be hand crafted jewelry, clothing, cosmetics and fragrances, collectible, gourmet treats and health products, home décor items and more. Friday and Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

February 20-23 – South Texas College Theatre presents William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin’s musical favorite Cyrano de Bergerac. February 25 – South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce will host their 4th Annual Walk the Dock at Sea Ranch Marina from 5 to 7 p.m. Visit chamber businesses at the marina for food, games, music and fun. Participants will receive a card with participating business listed upon arrival. Visit all businesses, get your card stamped, to become eligible for prize drawings at the end of the evening.

February 26 – Valley Voices Singing Choral will hold their spring show at Tropic Winds RV Resort, 1501 N. Loop 499, in Harlingen from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Ticket window open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
