Dec. 12 – Arroyo Colorado Audubon Society presents a lecture on Sabal Palm & Rabb House by Seth Patterson at the Harlingen Public Library, 410 76 Drive. Field trip to Sabal Palm and Rabb House follows on Dec. 14, $5.

Dec. 12 – Jammin’ on Jackson Street with Vance Greek & Friends at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Held at Railroad Crossing Model Railroad Club & Event Center, 101 W. Jackson, Harlingen.

Dec. 12 – Quinta Mazatlan, 600 Sunset Drive, McAllen, presents “Natural Holiday Treasures,” a craft evening as part of the nature series. Adults: $3. Senior citizens: $2.

Dec. 12 – South Padre Island Parks, Recreation & Beautification Holiday Fashion Show at South Padre Island Brewing Company, 11:30 a.m.

Dec. 14 – The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Welcome Home Winter Texan Party at Leo Pena Placita Park, at the corner of 8th Street and Conway Ave. from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-show features Our Lady of Guadulupe School Children’s Choir. Show entertainers include 12-String Tim & Sharon, Empty Pockets, the Texas Outlaws, and Keys & Strings. Enjoy free snacks and door prizes.

Dec. 14 – La Feria Christmas Parade, 5:30 p.m. followed by Winter Festival, 6:30 p.m. on high school parking lot.

Dec. 14 – San Benito will sponsor the “Longest Lighted Christmas Parade “A Cowboy Christmas,” and Bazaar downtown San Benito.

Dec. 14 – Museums of Port Isabel will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dec. 15 – Museum of South Texas History, 200 N. Closner, will present Glory Bells at 2 p.m. Admission, adults $7 and Senior Citizens (62+) $5.

Dec. 17 – The McAllen Symphonic Band, under the direction of David Isadore, will present “Tis the Season” at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Worship Center, 4801 N. Cage in Pharr. Tickets are $5 and are available at Wilder Resorts, Weslaco Chamber of Commerce and McAllen Community Centers. They will also be available at the door if not sold out.

Dec. 19-20 – El Paseo Arts Foundation will present “The Game’s Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays” at the South Padre Island Convention Center. Fun starts with hors d’oeuvres and drinks at 6:30 p.m. and showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available through the SPI Visitors Center and Paragraphs on SPI.

Dec. 21– Estero Llano Grande, 154 Lakeview Drive, Weslaco will celebrate Christmas with buenuelos and hot chocolate from 8-10 p.m.
