Feb. 22-25: The South Texas College Theatre will let art take center stage with Tony Kushner’s “The Illusion” at the Cooper Center located at, 3201 W. Pecan Blvd. in McAllen. All Sunday matinee productions are ASL interpreted by student interns. Individual ticket prices for Main Stage productions are $5 for students/faculty/senior citizens/military and $10 general admission. Studio productions are $5 general admission. Feb. 23-25, March 2-4: The Harlingen Community Theatre brings Meredith Willson’s The Music Man to the stage for six performances. Directed by T.J. Farver and Mike Ensign, show times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students under age 18. Feb. 24, March 3, 10: In a three-session workshop, learn how to make a short comic strip using programs with Photoshop, InDesign or other digital programs with instructor Francisco Rodriguez. Classes run from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost to UVAL members is $40 and $50 for nonmembers. Participants should bring a laptop computer with Photoshop or another digital drawing program.
