Jan. 17-18 – RGV Woodcarving Show at Cielo Banquet Hall, 1101 E. FM 495, San Juan, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission $2.

Jan. 18-19 – Santa Maria Bull Ring in La Gloria will have a two-day season opener. Events start at 3 p.m. with a pre-show by Sonia Chapa and her Flamenco dancers. Saturday will feature world famous bullfighters of yesteryear. Sunday features world ranked matador Cesar Casteñeda and Karla Santoyo. Bus tours are available with Go with Jo Tours. Jan. 20 – 10th Annual City of Harlingen “Winter Texan Appreciation Fiesta” Harlingen Municipal Auditorium/Casa de Amistad, 1204 Fair Park Blvd., Harlingen, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free admission.

Jan. 20-26 – Rally on the Rio woodcarving seminar will be held.

Jan. 21– The 21st Annual International Food Festival, McAllen Convention Center, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission $15.

Jan. 21-22 – McAllen Convention Center hosts 21st Annual Winter Texan Expo and Health Fair, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission free. Featuring Redhead Express, Ball Ranch Family, David Sage Mentalist and Magician, Jack Nelson and Country Line, Mama’s Wranglers and Elaine Clark.

Jan. 23 – Mission Historical Museum will host a “History of the Texas Citrus Fiesta” Luncheon in the museum annex located at 200 E. Tom Landry at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $12 purchased at MHM during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Jan. 23 – Museums of Port Isabel, 317 Railroad Ave. presents “Telling Our Stories” at 6:30 p.m.

Jan. 23 – Quinta Mazatlan, 600 Sunset, McAllen, will present “Birding in the Valley Virtual Tour” by Tiffany Kersten as part of the Natures series, 6 p.m. adults, $3, seniors, $2.

Jan. 23 – The Texas Citrus Fiesta Royal Coronation will be held at the Mission Neuhaus Center on the campus of Mission High School, 1820 Cleo Dawson Drive, at 7 p.m. Tickets, $5 to $10.

Jan. 24-25 – The 20th annual Winter Wildlife Expo will be held at the South Padre Island Convention Center featuring information on wildlife of the RGV, geocaching, Digiscoping, naïve plants, the beach and Laguna Madre and more. Danny Conner will present his live show; “Reptile Adventures” and Richard Moore will be Master of Ceremonies.

Jan 24-26 – McAllen International Car Fest will take place at McAllen Convention Center, Friday, Jan. 24 through Sunday January 26.
