Jan. 6: The International Museum of Arts and Science will present “Into the Artist's Studio” for the next Senior Saturday, Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The museum is located at 1900 Nolan Ave. in McAllen. This month's program will teach paint-making techniques and participants will create a traditional egg tempara. Light pastries, coffee and tea are provided. Cost is $2 for members, $7 for non-members and includes general admission.

Jan. 11: The city of Harlingen presents “Two on Tap” at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium, located at 1204 Fair Park Blvd, Harlingen. Showtime is at 7:30 and doors open at 6:30. Tickets can be purchased at tickets.vendini.com or at myharlingen.us.

Jan. 11: Quinta Mazatlan's one-of-a kind outdoor Forest Sculpture Trail helps visitors develop an appreciation for the vast variety of creatures that call our region home. The guided tour, from 10 a.m. To 11:30 p.m. on Thursdays, visit over 35 bronze sculptures, created by local artist Douglas Clark. Quinta Mazatlan is located at 600 Sunset Dr. in McAllen.

Jan. 12: The Liverpool Legends, the only Beatles tribute band with a direct link to a Beatles family member, will perform from 8-10 p.m. at the Edinburg Auditorium, located at 415 W University Drive, Edinburg. Jan. 13: The Liverpool Legends, the Beatles tribute band, will perform from 7-9 p.m. at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium, located at 1204 Fair Park Blvd, Harlingen. Tickets can be bought at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium box office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Or call the box office at (956) 216-5990 or visit online at harlingenarts.org. Jan. 12-13: 2018 Rio Grande Valley Woodcarving Show will be held Friday and Saturday, at the Nomad Shrine Club, located at 1044 W. Nolana in Pharr. Admission is $3 and the shop opens at 10 a.m. both days and closes at 4 p.m. The show features exhibits by carvers, carving instructors, tool vendors, and wood vendors. Door prizes will be given away every 30 minutes with three large door prizes given at the end of the show.

Jan. 13: Texas Citrus Fiesta Product Costume Show will be held at 2 p.m. at the Mission Community Center. The event will also feature winners of this year’s Shoebox Float competition and the 2nd Annual Ultimate Grapefruit Pie Baking Showdown. Admission is $5 per person. Jan. 16: McAllen Community Concerts presents “Two on Tap” at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, located at 801 Convention Center Blvd. in McAllen, featuring the all-dancing, all-singing tap sensations Melissa Giattino and Ron DeStefano at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start $20 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or at the MPAC box office from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Jan. 19-21:  UTRGV presents Mariachi Aztlan in Concert at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, located at 1201 W. University Drive in Edinburg. Performance times are at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, and 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, Jan 20-21. Tickets are general admission for $10 and can be purchased at tickets.vendini.com

Jan. 25: Texas Citrus Fiesta Royal Coronation will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Mission High School Neuhaus Gym, located at 1802 W. Cleo Dawson Street, Mission. Admission is $5 general admission or $10 reserved seating. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Fiesta office located at 220 E. 9th (Business 83), or at the door.

Jan. 27: Texas Citrus Fiesta Parade of Oranges begins at 3 p.m. in Mission. Parade will run south on Conway Ave. starting at FM 495 and ending on 1st Street. For parade entries, contact the Fiesta office at 956-585-9724.

Jan. 27: Texas Citrus Fiesta Fun Fair will be held at the Mission Market Square, next to the Mission Chamber of Commerce building, 202 W. Tom Landry. Food, vendors, entertainment, free admission.

Feb. 2: Maestro Peter Dabrowski and Trudie Elmore Abbot press Concert IV of the Symphonic Visions season, América, América, at 8 p.m. Friday at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, located at 801 Convention Center Blvd. in McAllen.
