George Burns & Friends to perform

Remember the days when the comedy greats were first heard on the radio and later appeared on TV? Winter Texans can once again enjoy the Golden Age of Comedy right here in the Rio Grande Valley. George Burns and Friends will be appearing at Llano Grande Lake Park Resort on Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Pete Salzer does an amazing tribute to George Burns. When he appeared at Victoria Palms in 2011, there was a collective “gasp” as he walked on stage. He was the very image of George Burns. And when he spoke, members of the audience thought they were listening to George Burns himself! Salzer captures the look, voice and style of this loveable actor and comedian. He has paid tribute to George Burns at the Tropicana Showroom in Atlantic City, on the stage of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and for a variety of groups and organizations.

Men Fully in Accord

No one is ever too old or too young to start singing barbershop. The Magic Valley Men of A-Chord chorus is a great example of a singing community coming together to entertain, and to have fun while doing so.

The Magic Valley Men of A-Chord was created out of the many Winter Texans who were already a part of a barbershop quartet or chorus in their home states and wanted to keep singing while away from home. It’s a group for all ages. Don Reinhardt and Ken Farley are the oldest members of the Men of A-Chord at 89, while Rob is the youngest at 48, but everyone has the same delight in singing barbershop style harmony.
