Over her career, LaDawn has studied piano, guitar and violin, but her real focus has been her voice. In pursuit of improving her vocal capabilities, she has worked with many vocal coaches, including internationally renowned soprano, Kristine Ciesinski.

Though most of her adult years were spent raising her six children, LaDawn continued working on her musical career. She auditioned for and was hired by CONSONO, a choral ensemble led by Dr. Paul Busselberg that performs in the Houston area. At the same time, she would perform with amazing characters at the local Honky-tonks around northwest Houston.

LaDawn was raised in a French Canadian home and later lived for a time in Panama. “Altogether, it really gave me a broad musical versatility that comes through in my selections for my shows.”  When asked what type of music she sings, LaDawn is quick to reply that she loves to sing everything.

Her shows consist of a wide variety of hits from over the years including songs by artists such as Dolly Parton, Doris Day, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Connie Francis. For LaDawn performing is not so much about the genre as it is about presenting the very best performance that she can. “When I perform I love to share my voice and energy with others. It’s all about everyone having fun, including me. I try to bring a little bit of glitz and sparkle too!”

Although new to the Rio Grande Valley, LaDawn’s 2018 schedule is quickly filling up. In addition, she has been invited to perform on the Goldwing Express second annual cruise next year on February 5-9. She has four shows that she will be doing for the 2018 season:

Her Christmas Show begins with some fun and laughs and transitions to a more traditional Christian theme.

Her Sentimental Journey Show starts with music from the 40s and travels through to the 80s.

Her Worldwide Melodies Show is a collection of popular songs that have an international theme to them.

Her Rock n’ Country Show highlights hit songs from the 50s and 60s.

LaDawn’s outlook on the future is very positive, “I’m so excited. God has been very good to me. And I’m taking a deep breath because I know I’m at the beginning of my second wind.”

This season, you can see LaDawn perform Thursday, Feb. 9 at Twin Palms, Rio Hondo; Feb. 11, Citrus Mobile & RV, Edinburg; Feb. 16, Tip O Texas, Pharr; and Feb. 18 at 4 Seasons Mobile & RV, Brownsville. All shows begin at 7 p.m.
