20181128 Mission LightsNDelights PR Tree2The City of Mission will kick off the Christmas season with a festive celebration Friday, Nov. 30, with the traditional Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony beginning at 5:45 p.m. at the newly-renovated Leo Pena La Placita Park. The park is located in downtown Mission on Conway Ave. at Business 83, across from the H-E-B.

The evening will feature a full evening of entertainment–South Texas style–including performances by the Mission Veterans Memorial High School Mariachi and Mission Parks & Recreation Folklorico. And visitors are sure to enjoy some traditional Christmas numbers performed by the Mission High School Choir and Baptist Temple with Tony Longoria.

It will be a fun evening for all, as the little ones eagerly anticipate the arrival of Santa Claus on his...fire truck! Old Saint Nick will be giving out goodies to the children and posing for photos. And, to the children’s delight, quite a number of bicycles will be given away too.

Come on out and enjoy the lights, the children’s delight, the music and the food for a festive Christmas celebration to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Feliz Navidad!
