Dave and DaphneThe 2018 Valley Star Awards Duet Musical Group of the Year is back in the Valley lighting up the stage with their amazing performances.

On one hand there’s Dave Salyer, proclaimed by many to be the fastest guitarist in the land. He’s fiery and his guitar is explosive and brings audiences to the edge of their seats.

On the other hand is Daphne Anderson, whose elegant presence and voice — which also carries with it a splash of sass when necessary – mesmerizes her audiences.

Put them together and you run the gamut with the bold and entertaining performance of the scintillating duo Dave & Daphne, who return to the Valley beginning Feb. 8 for their eighth season.

“There are just so many wonderful people in the Valley that we look forward to seeing and meeting,” Daphne said. “Like we tell them at our shows, we cannot be us without them.”

Their show is a mixture of fire and calm, of monsoon and soothing rain. Salyer will bring the electricity to the audience, blazing the guitar with “Flight of the Bumblebee” or the “William Tell Overture,” while Daphne will strike a chord in the hearts of those watching her perform songs like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Hey Good Lookin'” and an eclectic variety of other hits; the show takes the audience through the full range of emotions in way that only the best artists can do.

“There's definitely more than one peak to the show,” Dave said. “That's what we try to do, to pace it so there's emotion and excitement. We want to bring them to a place where they feel something in their hearts that they haven't felt for some time.”

There are definite moments throughout the show where there may not be a dry eye in the audience, with stunningly powerful tributes to veterans and farmers.

“One man said to us, my gosh, this was my first show there and there is excitement from the word go,” Daphne recalled. “This is our 21st year on the road and we are blessed to have each other. We receive God's blessing through his people all the time and Texas has been good to us.”

Dave has toured the world with Barbara Mandrell, has performed for presidents at the White House and appeared on countless TV shows. Roy Clark proclaimed him as one of the most fabulous guitarists on the planet and Mandrell said “Dave Salyer is the best guitarist I've ever had.

Daphne has toured with some of the great Southern Gospel Music groups of all time including the Bill Gaither Group, the Florida Boys, The Cathedrals, Rex Nelson and others. The Southern Gospel Music Association voted her their Female Vocalist of the Year. Her impressions of Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn are spot on.

It's a show that will do more than entertain you, it will speak to you in many, many ways.
