20181109 Le Peep TOV gu 8972Whether you want a breakfast hearty enough for a lumberjack, or for some a little more elegant, is the place to go.
For starters, my favorite is the signature gooey bun, an English muffin topped with brown sugar and toasted with crunchy almonds on top. It is served with a side of cream cheese and some of Mom's "Sassy" apples and it is a meal in itself for the lighter appetite.
For an elegant entree, try the Crab Cake Benedict. It consists of a crunchy crab cake with eggs and Hollandaise sauce on top. It is also available with salmon or florentine with spinach. Delicious!

My photographer chose the wanderer's skillet, a dish made with crispy peasant potatoes covered with tomato, onion, crispy bacon and cheese with two large eggs on top. He said it was delicious and was a great melting of all flavors together.

We were also served a plate of their best-selling banana walnut pancakes.

Seeing how much food we had to sample, I called Hollowleg, my grandson who is a human-eating machine. He was on his way to UTRGV but gladly stopped by for a second breakfast before class. He sampled all of plates and agreed with the photographer that the Wander's Skillet had a great flavor was his favorite. However, he also liked the Crab Benedict and ate a fair share of it along with the banana pancakes. Hollowleg only had a tiny taste of the gooey bun because I had almost demolished it, but he said it was also delicious.

Other breakfast offerings included Belgian waffles covered with strawberries. They also offer and a variety of omelets. You just can’t go wrong at Le Peep and you’re always in for a real treat – just the way we want our dining out experience to be. Delightful!

In addition to great breakfasts, Le Peep also serves salads, pasta and sandwiches at lunch. Grilled panini's are also on the menu. Choose from their Garden, Cobb, Spinach with Strawberries, Chicken and Chicken Caesar salads. Or choose a half sandwich with a garden salad. Whatever you choose, you know it’ll be delicious!

Le Peep is located at 7700 N. 10th Street in McAllen, and they’re open every day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by for breakfast or lunch – and tell them you saw them in the Winter Texan Times! Phone 956-661-9200.
