20140215-Valley-Star-Award-Show-116 featureWinter Texans who attended the Valley Star Awards Show at Mission Bell Resort Saturday, Feb. 15, were thrilled by the star quality performances put on by the Rio Grande Valley’s top performers.

The show provided the perfect setting to announce the nominees and final picks for this year’s recipients of the 2014 Valley Star Awards, selected by Winter Texans who cast well over 2,000 ballots in this year’s voting.

Robert and Billie Ferguson produced the show, while the Winter Texan Times published the ballots and tabulated the votes for this year’s awards.

While excitement was in the air as the audience awaited the announcement of the winners of each of this year’s awards, there was plenty of top-notch, Branson quality entertainment provided by six different groups of performers putting on a show like none other in the Rio Grande Valley.

Valley Star Awards Show planned

The Valley Star Awards Show will be held at Victoria Palms Resort on Saturday,  Feb. 25. The awards program hosted by Robert Ferguson will honor the “cream of the crop”of entertainers who make the winters more fun by performing in many Winter Texan resorts. Awards will be presented for individuals, groups and bands voted as best in their categories by park activity directors.

Nomination forms were distributed in November and December to activity directors. Twenty-nine parks returned the forms with their nominations. The nominations were tallied and the three highest entertainers in each category were put on a ballot slip and distributed to the parks participating. The ballots were returned to Victoria Palms Resort Feb. 1 and counted by a group of three people. From those results, favorite entertainers were chosen in 12 different categories.

Along with all your favorite Patsy Cline hits, Rainy has recently introduced more amazing music from three 60’s and 70’s legendary ladies with tributes to Connie Francis, Karen Carpenter and Anne Murray.  The addition of their memorable music has been met with much approval and audience response has been overwhelming here in the Valley.  Mix this high energy show with a little trivia and some hilarious (not-so-true) stories and you're in for an entertaining and fun-filled evening.

When not in the Rio Grande Valley, Rainy is part of a group of tribute artists who travel and perform for Casinos, Corporate Events, and Festivals in both Canada and the upper midwest U.S.A.

Rainy and hubby Hank welcome you to come out and join them as they take you on a musical journey down memory lane. For all Patsy Cline fans, this is a Must-See Show!
