The event will take place on Saturday, November 2, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Mission Historical Museum, 900 Doherty Ave., Mission. Since its beginnings in 2005, the museum’s Día de los Muertos Folklife Festival has grown into an annual celebration for the community. This vibrant festival will feature live music, food and craft vendors, local entertainment, and the Community Altar Exhibit. This year, attendees are invited to the “Remember Me” room, where they can write the name of a loved one on a card and place it within the room to commemorate them. The exhibit will showcase altars created by local organizations and community members, each one celebrating the memories and legacies of those no longer here. This free, all-ages event provides an opportunity to experience Día de los Muertos traditions right here in Mission, helping keep the rich heritage of Mexico and Latin America alive for future generations.
