Edinburg library to host Holly Jolly Winter Celebration The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library is excited to invite the community to its annual Holly Jolly Winter Celebration on Thursday, December 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. This festive event will be held at the library, located at 1906 South Closner Blvd. Attendees can look forward to a magical evening filled with family-friendly activities, games, and live Christmas caroling. A highlight of the event will be the chance for children to meet Santa, pose for photos, and deliver their letters directly to him. The celebration will feature interactive booths hosted by several local organizations, including the Edinburg Fire Department, the Museum of South Texas History, Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center, and local children’s book authors. These booths are designed to engage and entertain visitors of all ages. Adding to the festivities, the South Texas Literacy Coalition will distribute free books to attendees while supplies last, ensuring that the joy of reading remains at the heart of this holiday tradition. The Holly Jolly Winter Celebration is more than just an event— it’s an opportunity for the library to unite the community, celebrate the holiday spirit, and highlight the importance of literacy and togetherness. On Thursday, December 12, head out to Quinta Mazatlán, 600 Sunset Dr., starting at 6:30 p.m., for an enchanting evening filled with traditional mariachi and folklorico performances from La Joya Palmview High School that will bring the sounds and colors of the season to life. Doors open at 6 p.m. This exciting night will showcase the vibrant rhythms of mariachi and the lively dances of folklorico performers, offering an unforgettable cultural experience. The event will celebrate the rich heritage of these beloved Mexican traditions, perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the festive mood of the season.
