Owassa Road, Pharr. This free concert is open to the public and will begin at 3 p.m. The symphony orchestra will perform the same program on Tuesday, December 17, at Tip O’ Texas RV Resort, 101 E. Sioux Road, Pharr, at 2 p.m. This hour-long concert will feature favorite Christmas tunes, and a door prize will be given at each venue. The Winter Texan Orchestra is made up of primarily Winter Texans, although some locals have joined in recent years, many of whom are music teachers. A few of the music teachers have taken the opportunity to include some of their own students. The group currently consists of both young people and senior citizens. A few of the members have been performing with the group since its onset nearly 30 years ago. The orchestra practices every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Main Hall at the Tip O’ Texas RV Resort in Pharr. Rehearsals begin mid-November every year and continue through mid-March of the following year. The music is primarily classical music, and concerts are offered six times throughout the months when Winter Texans are in the Valley. The concerts are always free and open to the public. Pioneer High School presents Hadestown Pioneer High School Theatre would love to extend an invitation to the Winter Texans for the musical of their Pioneer High School Theatre Troupe. They will perform the musical Hadestown, a version of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Performances will be held on December 12, 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. They will have two matinee performances on December 15 and 22 at 2 p.m. Their performances will be held at Pioneer High School’s Auditorium which is located on the North side of the school. The address is 10001 N. Shary Rd., in Mission. The donation amount for Seniors is $5. There will also be a playbill and other things available for sale. They accept cash and Zelle.
