The festival, offering free admission and a family-friendly atmosphere, will be held indoors and outdoors with plenty of parking available for all guests. This year’s festivities are bigger than ever, promising an exciting lineup of live entertainment, delicious food and drink, and fun activities for all ages. Whether you’re a longtime lover of Irish culture or a first-time festivalgoer, there’s something for everyone at this community celebration. There will be several highlights of the festival including entertainment, a market, activities, food specials, and an afterparty. Enjoy a variety of live performances featuring regional musicians, dancers, and cultural showcases with all day entertainment. You can explore a curated selection of artisan vendors offering unique Irish-inspired goods, crafts, and gifts at the market. RGV Quilt Show brings Texas Fiesta to SPI The Rio Grande Valley Quilt Guild will be hosting the RGV Quilt Show, “Texas Fiesta,” February 14 and 15 at the South Padre Island Convention Center, 7355 Padre Blvd. There are nearly 300 quilt entries ranging from wall hangings, bed quilts, wearable items, home décor, challenge quilts, and more. This year’s theme for the challenge quilts is Texas Fiesta and to create a fiber piece or quilt that showcases the diversity of Texas. There was a maximum size and can include anything from mug rugs, jewelry, covered buttons, and more. With so many quilt items registered, there is bound to be something that will catch your eye. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. Admission is $10 a day or $15 for both days. There will be a silent auction, quilts for sale, door prizes, shopping and more. The Rio Grande Valley Quilt Guild meets regularly. The guild has programs and classes. Members produce foster quilts, military service quilts, and more. They even hold military sew days.
