But that is not all you’ll find to love when you visit. If you haven’t been there yet, you will want to try to hurry over early and often this season. While they are known for their namesake biscuits and gravy, they do have a wide assortment of breakfast dishes and great lunch offerings as well. But since breakfast is the most important meal of the day and my personal favorite, we of course had to drop in early one day. While waiting for our meals to arrive, we were each given a sample of their signature dish – biscuits and gravy. It was exactly like grandmother used to make – or dare I say, even better. If you are looking for something a bit bolder, check out these options that bring the flavor with a spicy flair. There’s their spicy chicken sandwich with an option of grilled or fried chicken served on Texas toast with lettuce, tomato, and onion, served with fries. Or Jr.’s Breakfast sandwich topped off with ranchero sauce, scrambled egg, sausage patty, slice of tomato, and cheese on a hamburger bun, served with hashbrowns. Also, Ryan’s Messy Hashbrowns – hashbrowns with bell peppers, cheese, bacon bits, grilled onion, topped with two eggs. And there is new merchandise such as shirts, mugs, and baby onesies that make great gifts. Everything we have tried tastes like good southern home cooking. We felt reminiscent of being on the farm eating a good, hearty country meal in grandma’s kitchen. It is a place we like going back to time and time again – even if it’s just for biscuits and gravy.
