With Purchase of a New Model Home The Salvation Army seeks volunteers While many are just beginning to think about holiday decorations, The Salvation Army has been preparing for Christmas for months—ensuring that families in need across McAllen can experience the joy and hope of the season. As red kettles begin to appear outside stores and Angel Trees are set up in local businesses, volunteers are urgently needed to help bring the spirit of Christmas to life. The Salvation Army of McAllen is calling on the community to Give with Joy by volunteering for its Red Kettle campaign and Angel Tree program – two beloved traditions that make a real difference for thousands of individuals and families. “Volunteering makes such a big impact on so many lives during the holidays,” said Major Frankie Zuniga with The Salvation Army in McAllen. “Whether you can spare an hour, a morning, or a full day, share the gift of your time and Give with Joy to those who need it most. You can ring the bell at a kettle on your own, with your family, or bring a whole group—it’s a wonderful way to serve together.” Every dollar collected in the Red Kettle supports The Salvation Army’s social services programs throughout the year right here in McAllen. Visit www.RegisterToRing.com and follow the prompts to sign up for the location and shift of your choice or contact Major Frankie Zuniga at (956) 682-1468 or Frankie.Zuniga@uss.salvationarmy.org. Volunteers are needed through December 23. The Salvation Army will provide gifts for 2,800 children through the Angel Tree program this year, thanks to the generosity of local donors and businesses. Volunteer activities include working at Angel Tree adoption locations, sorting gifts, and participating in the gift distribution day for registered families. Churches and businesses can also host an Angel Tree to bring joy and holiday cheer to children in the community. Angel Trees are asked to be available from now through December 18. Contact Major Jan Zuniga at (956) 682-1468 or Jan.Zuniga@uss. salvationarmy.org Whether you’re ringing a bell, helping with Angel Tree gifts, or serving holiday meals, your time and compassion help The Salvation Army Give with Joy to those who need it most this holiday season.
