November 19 – Join UTRGV Arts at the TSC Performing Arts Center for a Faculty Showcase Recital featuring individual and collaborative works by the Brownsville campus applied music faculty. Texas Blvd. November 20 – Enjoy the UTRGV Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Norman Gamboa for a powerful performance featuring works by Brahms, Ortiz and Zyman on Thursday, November 20, at 7 p.m. The performance will be held at the UTRGV Performing Arts Center in Edinburg. November 20 – McAllen Community Concert Association will present C Street Brass, a brass quartet playing a variety of genres from Frank Sinatra to Astor Piazzolla and Billy Joel to George Gershwin. November 20-23 – The UTRGV Theatre presents Bright Ideas, “A comedy about ambition, parenting, and pesto – Bright Ideas follows a couple willing to do anything (literally anything) to get their toddler into the best preschool. Shows will be held at the UTRGV Marian Monta Theatre in Edinburg, November 20-22, at 7:30 p.m., and a matinee show on November 23 at 2 p.m. General admission is $17. November 22 – February 15 – The IMAS Members’ Juried Art Show will be on exhibit. The exhibit provides members with an opportunity to professionally display their artwork at the museum. Opening reception will be held November 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. Awards are announced at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10. IMAS is located at 1900 Nolana Ave., McAllen. November 22 – The McAllen Farmers Market will be held at the McAllen Public Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is held every Saturday. Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers will have their weekly Thursday get togethers at the Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25th St., in McAllen from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will meet every Thursday, excluding holidays, until the last Thursday in March 2026. RGV Senior Texan Softball League The RGV (previously Ed Marten’s) Senior Texan Softball League is open to all local Texans as well as Winter Texan senior men and women aged 55 years and older. The league practices are held at McAllen’s West Side Park, located on S. Ware Road directly across from the McAllen Convention Center. The Division A practice is every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. Division B practice is every Monday at 9 a.m. Practices run from now through December. The first week of January the league will “draft” players into teams for some competitive play.
