December 4 – South Padre Island will kick off their season with their tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at the SPI Visitors & Transit Center. December 4 – Join MOSTH for a night of celebration, culture, and community at An Evening with Friends: Noche de Mezcal – A Toast to Tradition at the Museum of South Texas History from 6 to 9 p.m. Enjoy festive flavors, live music, and holiday cheer as we raise a glass to the rich heritage that brings us together. Experience the featured Cappadona Ranch Mesquite Bean Essence – A Taste of Texas in Every Drop, a versatile flavor enhancer that adds a distinctive Texas touch to this evening of tradition and flavor. The museum is located at 200 N. Closner, in Edinburg. December 5 – Join the City of Mission for a night filled with holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. at Mission City Hall. December 5 – McAllen Art Walk will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at 601 N. Main St. There will be vendors, exhibits, and live entertainment. The event is free. The event is held every first Friday of the month through May. December 5 – SPI’s annual Christmas Parade will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. along Padre Blvd. December 5 – Palmview will have their annual Christmas tree lighting event at 6 p.m. at Palmview City Hall, 400 W. Veterans Blvd. There will be food and craft vendors, entertainment and more. December 5 – Spread holiday cheer and celebrate the season with lights, music, and festive fun at San Benito’s Christmas on the Resaca and Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. The event will feature music, an ice-skating rink, vendors, and more. It will be held at Heavin Memorial Park, 705 N. Bowie St. December 5 – Brownsville’s Downtown Market Square Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The event will be accompanied by festive activities and holiday music. It will be held at Washington Park at 1157 E. Washington St. December 5 – The Valley Symphony Orchestra presents their Christmas concert A Touch of Frost featuring the VSO Chorale and festive and heartwarming music to ring in the holiday season at 8 p.m. at the McAllen Performing Arts Center. December 5 – The City of Pharr will have their Winter Wonderland from 6 to 10 p.m. The lighting of the Christmas Tree will begin at 7 p.m. The event will be held at the Pharr Downtown Park at 200 S. Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers will have their weekly Thursday get togethers at the Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25th St., in McAllen from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will meet every Thursday, excluding holidays, until the last Thursday in March 2026. RGV Senior Texan Softball League The RGV (previously Ed Marten’s) Senior Texan Softball League is open to all local Texans as well as Winter Texan senior men and women aged 55 years and older. The league practices are held at McAllen’s West Side Park, located on S. Ware Road directly across from the McAllen Convention Center. The Division A practice is every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. Division B practice is every Monday at 9 a.m. Practices run from now through December. The first week of January the league will “draft” players into teams for some competitive play.
