Individual show tickets will be announced as each engagement approaches. December 11 – Chapel by the Sea will host Christmas Carols and Cookies from 7 to 8 p.m. Bring a friend. Bring some cookies to share and sing carols. Coffee and cookies will be served. The chapel is located at 33425 State Park Rd. 100 on South Padre Island. December 12 – The community is invited to attend the Edinburg Police Department’s Blue Santa toy giveaway from 6 to 9 p.m. Children will be given toys and there will be food vendors, face painting, a car show, a petting zoo, and a free screening of Elf. This will be held at the Promenade Park Amphitheater, 201 W. McIntyre St. December 12 – Mission will host a Holiday Market from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Leo Pena Placita Park (corner of Business 83 and Conway Ave.). The event is free and pet friendly. There will be local vendors, food, games, and photos with Santa and the Grinch. December 12 – Calvary Baptist Church present Behold, A Savior! at 7:30 p.m. Join them for this highly anticipated annual event and let your heart be lifted and filled with joy at the coming of Jesus, the Messiah. The NBC is located at 3333 Butterfly Park Dr. in Mission. December 13 – Join the Mission Historical Museum and RGV’s Little Elves for a Winter Craft Day. Donate a new, unopened toy to participate. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The museum is located at 200 E. Tom Landry. December 13 – The McAllen Farmers Market will be held at the McAllen Public Library from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is held every Saturday. Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers will have their weekly Thursday get togethers at the Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25th St., in McAllen from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will meet every Thursday, excluding holidays, until the last Thursday in March 2026. RGV Senior Texan Softball League The RGV (previously Ed Marten’s) Senior Texan Softball League is open to all local Texans as well as Winter Texan senior men and women aged 55 years and older. The league practices are held at McAllen’s West Side Park, located on S. Ware Road directly across from the McAllen Convention Center. The Division A practice is every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. Division B practice is every Monday at 9 a.m. Practices run from now through December. The first week of January the league will “draft” players into teams for some competitive play.
