Spend the day at the Llano Grande Quilt Bee 16th annual show on Tuesday, January 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show will be held at the Llano Grande Event Center, 2215 East West Blvd. (off Mile 2 West) in Mercedes. United We Celebrate is the theme of this year’s show. Red, white, and blue will be flying in patriotic displays. Quilts of various shapes and sizes will be on display. This year’s opportunity quilt is a representation of a sky full of fireworks and measures 80 x 99. Tickets for the quilt can be purchased from any Bee member or at the Show. The winner will be drawn at the end of the show, you do not have to be present to win. The theme for this years “Challenge Quilt” is “Americana.” There will be various concepts of the theme for your viewing pleasure. The Challenge Quilt shows a variety of skill levels from beginner to expert. While the skill level may differ, the vision and beauty always shine through. Admission to the show will be $5. Which quilt will you cast your vote for as “People’s Choice”? We will also have a variety of vendors for your shopping pleasure to find that new fabric or item calling your name. We will have demonstrations throughout the morning, our boutique offering a variety of items from our Bee members, door prizes, and the grand prize of a sewing machine.
