History is deep in the Valley, and so many of our communities continue to keep that history alive in their décor and events they have throughout the year. I invite you to try something new, visit a place you haven’t been to yet, or learn about the city you live in. When driving around the Valley while things were shut down, I was able to visit many museums and outdoor areas. It was a delight to learn about the cemeteries in Brownsville, Palo Alto Battlefield, and Fort Brown (all in Brownsville). But it was also neat to see the many churches throughout the Valley, many of them have been around for 100 years or more. It was nice to go and enjoy the stillness of the nature and really hear the sounds of the life around me. So, take some time while you are visiting the Valley and get out enjoy those sites around you. We have quite the list in our Rio Grande Valley Visitors Guide that you can find online at our website under digital editions.
