Many of these talented individuals are local as well. Some popular Wintertainers™ include Bruce Boudreau and CanAm, Rick McEwen, Steven May, Ron Moshier, Tim Hadler, and Mark Merchant. A new popular group is the local band Vinyl Spin. These groups, individuals, and duos, make the effort to put on a good show and learn to play the music you want to hear and dance to. Some are known for specialties – like Rick as Kenny Rogers – and others can do it all. You can find a mix of variety bands, country, rock, and even bluegrass. No matter what you are into, you can find a Wintertainer™ that can sing it for you. You can also find ones like Julia Lane Cooper that not only sings, but also does murder mystery shows. These individuals perform at parks throughout the Valley. The cost is typically $7 to $10 while the same show in Florida or Arizona will cost $15 or more and in Branson might cost you $30 to $50. And if that’s not enough, a lot of parks will have their own dance classes. You often have the opportunity to learn line dancing, square dancing, waltzes, and others. One park holds a big Line Dance Bash featuring all the new line dances learned during the season. So, whether you are into country or rock, you can be sure to find it in the Valley. Many Winter Texans have their favorites, and some groups even have roadies. Lots of service, Lots of love If you like doing things for others, there is sure to be something you can participate in while visiting the Valley. Many parks have activities throughout the year where they collect donations for Christmas, host food drives for Thanksgiving, or collect socks for a local school. We see photos and read stories about the many charitable things our Winter Texans do each year in the communities they reside in. Many Winter Texans volunteer at city chamber offices, food pantries, animal shelters, and hospitals. There are quilting groups that make blankets for local students and hospitals. Some Winter Texans make hats and bears for babies. It’s always a blessing to see what you are doing for the communities you call home for such a short time each year. The Valley appreciates all that you do for them and know your value. We love having you here and look forward to your arrival each year.
