To do so, Cásares and photographer Joel Salcido traveled the length of the Rio Grande—from El Paso and Juárez to Brownsville and Matamoros—capturing the roots, memories, and quiet complexities of life along the border. Postcards from the Border, written and performed by Brownsville native Oscar Cásares and featured in Texas Monthly, brings these stories to life through an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling. Cásares is joined by acclaimed musician Carrie Rodriguez and her five-piece band for a moving performance celebrating the people and places of the Rio Grande Valley. This one-night event will take place Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. at the TSC Performing Arts Center in Brownsville as part of the UTRGV Distinguished Artist Series. General admission tickets are $20. VIP tickets are $40 and include premium seating plus an invitation to meet the artists at the post-show reception.
