This special milestone will be marked with a Community Day celebration on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lions Park (1500 E. Kika de la Garza Loop) in Mission. The event will feature service booths highlighting causes supported by the Lions Club, including juvenile diabetes, autism, childhood cancer, and Leader Dogs for the Blind, among others. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of local vendors and food trucks, making it a fun and meaningful day for families and neighbors alike. In honor of this centennial celebration, the Mayor of Mission will issue a formal proclamation, recognizing a century of service and community impact by the Mission Lions Club. For more information, you can follow the Mission Lions Club on Facebook, @MissionLionsClub, or email them at missionlionsclub@ gmail.com. Your dedication, your caring hearts, and your love for others are truly overwhelming and a great thing to see. These organizations struggle a bit when you leave, and your generosity and caring spirit are greatly appreciated. I know they are always happy to see you return – as we are too. We have been so blessed by sharing time with you at events and just talking to you. We have been blessed by your words, your encouragement, and your actions. We also feel blessed to have great entertainment that visits the Valley each year to provide outstanding shows and music to the parks and other events. These Wintertainers™ make each season a fun one as does the activity directors and park management. We have enjoyed sharing stories of your heroes, the ones that help at your parks, and the ones that step up to assist in times of need. It’s been a delight to share how others can help their own communities and hearing how stories have touched others. We are truly thankful for everything you bring to the Valley. Without you, the parks, activity directors, and the Wintertainers™, we wouldn’t have a whole lot to do. Thank you all. As always, thank you for visiting and we look forward to your return in the fall. Have a wonderful summer, and safe travels. Until we meet again … THANK YOU From pg. 1 MWE From pg. 3 organization’s long-term artistic and operational vision.
