The Historic Brownsville Museum’s featured exhibit is a Baldwin wood-burning railroad locomotive, the last one in the world of its kind. The museum is located within the old Southern Pacific Railroad Depot built in 1928 and covers the history of Brownsville from its beginning with emphasis on the War with Mexico and the Civil War. Significant historical artifacts from Brownsville’s past are also on display and artwork is currently on exhibit in the art gallery. The museum is located at 641 E.
