Brownsville Heritage Complex The Brownsville Heritage Complex is comprised of the Brownsville Heritage Museum and the Stillman House Museum. Guests to the Brownsville Heritage Complex will step back in time to the 1850s as they walk through the house Charles Stillman lived in, one of Brownsville’s founders. In addition to artifacts and décor of the time period, bilingual interpretive panels introduce guests to the culture, architecture, and early history of Brownsville. Brownsville Heritage Museum allows visitors to explore the history of South Texas and Mexico through interactive exhibits and unique artifacts from their collections. The Aiken Education Gallery houses an exhibit centered on the Mexican Revolution and displays a 1909 German MAN limo which was allegedly custom made for Porfirio Diaz. The Vezzetti Room accommodates temporary art and cultural exhibits in addition to hosting a wide variety of programs and events. Children’s Museum of Brownsville Located at 501 Ringgold St. #5 in Dean Porter Park in Brownsville, this non-profit museum is a fun environment where children can learn and explore through a variety of exhibits, workshops, and programs in a safe and imaginative environment.
