Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers

The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers have begun their 2021-2022 season. The woodcarvers are meeting again this year at the Nomad Shrine Club, 1044 W. Nolana Blvd., in Pharr. Join the group from 8 a.m. until noon every Thursday through March of 2022. Gather with old friends, and new, to carve, visit and share ideas. Please use the north end of the parking lot for parking. Also, please use the back door to enter the building. Participants will be setting up their own tables for the time being. Be sure to clean up your area before leaving at the end of the day.

Pennsylvania 10th Annual Reunion

The Pennsylvania Winter Texans Luncheon will be held Thursday Feb. 3rd at Mr. Gatti’s Pizza, 4100 N. 2nd St (Col Rowe Blvd), McAllen at 11 AM. RSVP Allyn at (570) 335-7209.

Retired Nurse's Luncheon

Come one, come all. All retired RNs and LPNs in the Rio Grande Valley are invited to a reuion on Tuesday, February 8 at Peter Piper Pizza, 3101 E. Expressway, in Weslcao. It will be a buffet luncheon that includes pizza, breadsticks, salad bar, dessert and beverage. Bring your Peter Piper mug if you have one. Kansas Day – Valley-Wide

The Valley-wide Kansas Day will be held on Wednesday, January 26, three days before the actual Kansas holiday. The event will feature a meal of chicken supreme, loaded mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, and a dessert. Entertainment will be provided by Rusty Rierson, 2019 RGV Male Vocalist of the Year. The event begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. and lunch at noon. Tickets are $15 per person and will be collected at the door (cash only). Seating is limited, so register early. Reservations must be received on, or before, Friday, January 21. Reservations can be done by emailing Larry Schmitt at larrys13@icloud.com or calling (913) 369-5669. You must include name, number of attendees, phone and Kansas hometown. Any cancellations must be reported to Larry by Saturday, January 22, or you might be billed for the meal. The event will be held at Trophy Gardens RV Resort, 800 SH 495, in Alamo.

The Newmar Owner’s Monthly Luncheon will meet at the American Legion on the Second Wednesday of the month through March. It will be held January 12 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost for lunch is $13 per person. This is for all Newmar owner’s past and present. Guests are welcome to attend.
