November 4 – Valley Symphony Orchestra will present Romantic Masterpieces – a concert of inspiration and grandeur, the true Symphonic experience. The event will take place at the McAllen Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. For tickets and more information, visit https://valleyorchestra.org/concerts/.

November 4-5 – The South Texas Historical Association will host their symposium at the Bowie Parental Engagement Center, 81 E. Bowie Ave., in Alamo. The symposium will feature speakers presenting information about the history of the Rio Grande Valley and important historical events. It is free to attend, but reservations are required. November 5 – McAllen Heritage Center will be hosting the editor and two authors of ‘Living Beyond Borders, Growing up Mexican’ at 2 p.m. Refreshments will follow until 4 p.m. Books will be available for purchase. November 5 – The Museum of South Texas History (MOSTH) presents Hometown Heroes of South Texas: A Veterans Day Exhibit, opening at 10 a.m. The exhibit will feature donated items from local Veterans. The event will coincide with the Veterans Day Parade in Edinburg. The Exhibit closes on November 27. MOSTH is located at 200 North Closner in Edinburg. November 5 – The South Texas Farm Fest will be held at 1202 N. Vermont Ave., in Mercedes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds from the event will support the creation of the Mercedes Museum. The event will feature food trucks, an outdoor market, local vendors, a super farmer contest, and more. Admission is $5. For more information, call (956) 532-7713. 

November 5-6 – You are invited to a fundraiser for the sole purpose of supplying a Veteran in need of a custom trained dog. Leslie Blasing will be hosting fundraisers for this purpose from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Coco Beach (2612 Gulf Blvd., South Padre Island). 

November 9-13 – The Annual Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival will be held in Harlingen. The event will be full of seminars and field trips for those that have registered. There are some community events as well. Full details and a full list of events can be found on their web page at rgvbf.org.  

November 10 – South Texas College Theatre and Dance kicks off its first production of the year with Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward. The production will run at 7:30 p.m. at STC’s Cooper Center for the Performing Arts Main Stage Theater, 3200 W. Pecan Blvd., in McAllen. General admission tickets are $5. Seating is limited and advanced purchasing is encouraged. Tickets can be purchased online at www.southtexascollege.edu/go/theatre. November 10 – The Aliento a Tequila exhibit opens at IMAS. A tequila tasting and painting workshop for adults will be held on Thursday, November 17, after hours. Exhibit will be open until January 8, 2023. Visit imasonline.org or call (956) 681-2800 for more information. The museum is located at 1900 W. Nolana in McAllen.
