Mission celebrates over 90 years of tradition with Texas Citrus Fiesta

20250122 Citrus Fiesta Parade 032 webThe City of Mission invites you to the 93rd Annual Texas Citrus Fiesta Parade of Oranges, one of the largest and most beloved parades in South Texas. The parade will take place on Saturday, January 25, at 12 p.m., along Conway Avenue, starting at 495 FM and continuing south, ending at 1st Street. This year’s theme is Boots and Blossoms, so don’t forget to wear your best boots and be part of the fun!

Gospel Music Extravaganza is January 28

20250122 Gospel Music Extravaganza CAB 0071 webBob Courtney, AKA Pastor Pudge, will be hosting the Gospel Music Extravaganza next week where he and others will be performing great gospel music to lift our spirits. The event begins at 3 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, at Winter Ranch Resort, 600 State Hwy. 495, in Alamo.
Others that will be performing are Redneck Revival, Alta Courtney, Even You Ministries, and starring this year is legendary piano man Scott Roberts.

14th Annual Valley Star Awards is February 12

20240221 Valley Star Awards Candids CAB 0061 webThe 14th Annual Valley Star Awards will be held at Mission Bell Resort on Wednesday, February 12. The show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. with an intermission. Mission Bell will have lunch available for attendees for a small price before the show at 12 p.m. or just get there early to have a seat up front. They will also provide drinks and snacks during intermission for a small fee.

This year’s lineup includes some Winter Texan favorites, a newer group, some nominees, and a previous Valley Star Award winner. This year’s performers are Kiley & Co., Pat Davison & Tess, The Lady & the Outlaw, The Warman Trio, Sister Luv, and Steven May and the Southern Knights. It’s sure to be a show that gives you a little bit of everything from magic to oldies, to country and rock ‘n roll.

RGV Livestock Show & Rodeo announces music lineup

All concerts are free with the price of admission. Listed below are the Main Headliners for each day. Opening Acts will be listed on the website at www.rgvls.com.

Tickets are currently on sale. You’ll have a mix of country, conjunto, rock and Tejano to choose from.

Bachelors of Broadway to perform

MCC features Carole King Tribute

A Tribute to Carole King, Natural Woman, will be held on January 13. Katie Pinder Brown is an award-winning singer and piano entertainer whose dynamic voice, charismatic presence, and impressive repertoire have dazzled and delighted international audiences. Natural Woman is the premier tribute to the legendary singer/songwriter Carole King. Katie Brown plays and sings the iconic songs that defined a generation.
