City of Edinburg hosting 12th Annual FridaFest

The City of Edinburg proudly invites the community to the 12th annual FridaFest, an evening filled with art, music, and cultural celebration. Set to take place on Saturday, March 8, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. in front of the Arts, Culture & Events Center (315 W. McIntyre St.), this beloved festival honors the spirit of Frida Kahlo while celebrating creativity, wellness, and the strength of womanhood.
Join the Mission Chamber of Commerce on March 7, starting at noon (doors open at 11 a.m.) at the Leo Pena Placita Park in Mission, for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and celebration.
Three male vocalists are getting together to perform a free Country Gospel Benefit Concert next weekend. The Wintertainers™ will be performing to raise funds for the His Hands Ministries in Penitas. The men performing will be Curt James, Rick McEwen and Rusty Rierson.
It was dance time with the 70 plus musicians McAllen Wind Ensemble's February 18 concert as three of the numbers included performances by The Debra Case Dance Academy members. The music director was Roger Olivarez for the free "Let's Dance" concert at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.
Texas celebrates their Independence Day on March 2. It is the day Texas adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836. The document was signed by 59 delegates and it officially declared independence from Mexico and created the Republic of Texas.
The Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas invites you to their 55th Annual Nde Daa (Spring) Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas Homecoming Pow Wow on Saturday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Alton Recreation Center, 349 Dawes Ave. in Alton. Dancing and presentations will be held throughout the day. The event is free.
Mission Bell Resort was full of anticipation for this year’s Valley Star Awards. Some attendees came with signs and faces on sticks showing who their favorite Wintertainer™ was. Many attendees showed up early to save front row seats before enjoying a lunch provided by Mission Bell.
