The City of Harlingen and Convention and Visitors Bureau will hold their 13th Annual Winter Texan Fiesta on Monday, January 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. This year the event will be held at the new Harlingen Convention Center at 701 Harlingen Heights Dr.

Cassandra Consiglio, Harlingen CVB director, said this event is a chance for the City of Harlingen to show their appreciation for the Winter Texans that come to Harlingen and visit the Valley.

“It is an appreciation day,” said Cassandra about the event.

The event will feature entertainment with a live band, and mariachi and folkloric performers. There will also be a car show, and participants from all over the Valley.

She said their idea is to have a One Stop Shop where Winter Texans can find information about local businesses, medical facilities, and city departments all at one location.

Last year the event had over 3,000 visitors. This year, they will be giving out 2,000 T-shirts to the first 2,000 people to arrive. There will also be other free prizes throughout the day.
