Mcallen Parks and recThe McAllen Parks & Recreation Department has published the new Summer 2020 Activity Guide. The programs featured are in a weekly summer camp format at each of the three City of McAllen Community Centers- Lark, PalmView, and Las Palmas.

Community centers closed to the public on Monday, March 16th in response to COVID-19. Since that date the department has launched a new ESPORTS program, served over 750 meals to McAllen Seniors daily, and created McAllen Parks & Recreation Unplugged, a weekly series of at home programs. To prepare for Summer 2020, Parks & Recreation staff worked to determine how to welcome participants back to community centers for programming and social interaction with their peers while keeping top of mind that the health and wellness of participants, parents, and staff was of the utmost importance.

Each community center is offering 10 sessions of one week each. Session 1 begins on June 1st with registration already open. Space for each camp is limited, early registration is recommended.

Registration for Summer 2020 Camps is available online only.
