imas vaultThe International Museum of arts and Sciences (IMAS) is open and has several exhibits on display and programs taking place online. Currently online, IMAS has released their “Inside the Vault” series. In this new series by IMAS, the series will take a special look inside the vault of their permanent collections.

The IMAS’s mission is to preserve, expand, and display their permanent art and science collections. The IMAS vault is home to thousands of objects and artworks. Inside the vault will introduce viewers to a few of these items. Along the way, viewers will learn a little more about their past and their influences.

In the first episode, viewers will earn about the history of the nativity scene while discovering and learning about different styles of nativities made from various cultures around the world. The online series can be found here https://theimasonline.org/inside-the-vault-nativity-episode-1/.

Viewers can follow along as they learn about nativity scenes with an object reflections page linked with the episode. This is a great resource if you are interested in learning more and sharing with others.

The IMAS galleries are open weekly Wednesday through Saturday with modified hours and scheduled admission tickets. Currently admission is $1 for guests 4 and up, and IMAS members and children under 4 receive free admission. Visit theimasonline.org for the most up to date visitor information.
