The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley and Boggus Ford Lincoln McAllen have partnered together to help make the holidays brighter for many RGV families, this holiday season.
To kick off the partnership, Boggus Ford Lincoln McAllen has made a generous donation of $5,000 to sponsor the Thanksgiving ‘Drive-Thru Emergency Pantry’ at the Food Bank RGV located at 724 N. Cage Blvd. in Pharr. This distribution will be on Wednesday, November 17, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. or until capacity is reached. This distribution will serve 1,000 families.
The Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Emergency Pantry will follow the Food Bank RGV’s mobile drive-thru model of little or no contact. Food Bank RGV staff and volunteers will assist with the distribution of food. Frozen turkeys and thanksgiving-themed foods will be placed into the vehicle trunks of attendees. There is a limit of two families (two people) per car to receive turkeys. Picture identification and proof of address are requested. All vehicle occupants must wear face coverings, and car trunks must be empty.
In partnership with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and to provide additional support this Thanksgiving, Boggus Ford Lincoln McAllen has begun its “Thanksgiving Holiday Meals” campaign. Now through November 22, anyone can help make a difference with a monetary donation by visiting foodbankrgv.com or texting ‘BOGGUS FORD’ to 44-321. The campaign has a goal of $10,000 which will help provide an additional 50,000 complete and nutritious meals for families in the RGV.
