20220126 MHM Quilt Show GU 2683The Mission Historical Museum is accepting entries for its “Turning of the Quilts” program to be offered January 20, 2023. The museum is looking for antique, vintage, or just plain interesting quilts for this program. The quilts are presented stacked on a bed. As each quilt is shown, it is turned down to reveal the next quilt, until all have been presented. A knowledgeable presenter will talk about each quilt as it is shown.

The Museum will be accepting vintage quilts through Friday, Jan 13, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition to weekends, the Museum will be closed Jan. 2. Please provide as much information as you can about your quilt, such as who made it, how old it is, how you got it, etc. Viewers would also be interested in any stories associated with the quilt. All quilts will be handled by trained and knowledgeable individuals. You may bring more than one.

“Turning of the Quilts” will be presented as part of the Awards Ceremony at the Seventeenth Annual Mission Quilt Show at the Mission Historical Museum at 2:00 p.m. on January 20, 2023. This is a wonderful opportunity to show off some of your treasures, and maybe learn a thing or two about them as well.

The Mission Historical Museum is located at 900 Doherty and 200 E. Tom Landry, in Mission, Texas. Admission is free. For more information, please call the Museum at (956) 580-8646.
