This Summer Pharr Community Theater (PCT) will present The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit, a two-act comedy, in English, written by Ray Bradbury, (to be directed by Seres J. Magaña). The story is set in the 1970's in Los Angeles, where four young men pull together their money to buy a wonderful white suit that they believe will bring them better luck, especially in romance.
Open auditions and cold readings from the script will be held for 9 men and 4 women and will take place at PCT, 213 W Newcombe Ave. Pharr, on May 8 & 9, 2023 between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm., in person, on a first come first serve basis. -No appointment necessary. In particular amongst the cast are 5 men ranging in ages 17 to 35, that are hopefully around the same height and size, or close, and can possibly fit in the same suit. Other characters include friends, shop owners, lovely ladies, a seamstress, a landlord, etc. Women roles range between ages 17 and 70.
No acting experience is needed to try for a role, of course experience actors are always welcomed, and or those who lack stage fright. This is your opportunity to try and win a role. If selected, be prepared for an 8 weeks rehearsal to begin in mid May and two weeks of performances between June 28 and July 9 for a total of 8 shows in Pharr. Understudies will also be cast and are strongly encouraged to try-out.
The Pharr Community Theater is a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Organization since 2008, and was founded by Drs. Elva and Keith Michal (pronounced Michael) with Pedro Garcia.
