After having a successful Thanksgiving event, Angels of Love is reaching out to local businesses and organizations to help them with their 14th Annual Christmas Toy Drive and Christmas Party. They are inviting community members to partner with them.

Angels of Love is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide victims of violence and their families with individualized services in a safe and loving environment. They provide these things in hopes of providing them with the tools necessary to heal and move forward from their trauma. The organization also provides clients with empowerment classes, victim advocacy services, referral services, parenting classes, financial literacy, dating violence workshops, counseling and more.

The organization is collecting toys to be distributed to the children of victims of violence. They are seeking businesses for toy drop off locations. They also need in kind any monetary donations for the Children’s Christmas Party which will be held on Sunday, December 17 and will feature photos with Santa Claus, food, Disney characters, and of course, toys.

The party is for children under the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and Angels of Love Clients’ children. The organization expects 300 CPS children and 200 victim’s families that have been identified as requesting services. They will also provide baskets of food, essential hygiene items, and clothing items to 100 identified victims’ families.

They are also seeking donations of toys, canned food, essential items such as socks and body care, plastic laundry baskets, turkeys, and gift cards. Donations for the food baskets can be dropped off at the Angels of Love headquarters, 409 W. Nolana Ave., in McAllen.

The toy drive will end on Friday, December 15. They will accept essential hygiene items and food until December 20, for delivery on December 18 through 22.
