Mission CISD’s Agriculture Program is kicking off a community-wide, green-thumb initiative: free manure giveaways on the last Thursday of every month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while supplies last.
The nutrient-rich manure is ideal for gardens, lawns, and flower beds. Community members are encouraged to bring their own containers, buckets, or trailers for easy pick-up.
“We’re literally turning barnyard waste into garden gold,” said Jorge Flores, Mission CISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director. “It’s a win-win—our student agricultural program reduces waste, and local families get a cost-free boost for healthier soil and bigger blooms.”
The manure is ideal for outdoor and garden use. Availability is first-come, first-served. The Jose Carrera Agriculture Facility is located at 1207 W. Griffin Parkway in Mission.
