It’s great seeing and hearing of the events that are picking back up in the Valley. Again, events that were cancelled last year, are coming back again in full swing and organizers are thrilled to be seeing your smiling faces again.
During the holidays, there are more events going on throughout the Valley, including holiday events like parades, Christmas tree lightings, and more.
Many organizations hold fundraisers and parks are always getting involved with the community to support them during the holiday season.
If you have something you want to share about what you are doing – even if it is just within your own park – feel free to send us some information and photos. We love having you here and we want to share what you are doing with others.

Good news for those that like to cross the border. This past week, as a symbolic sign of friendship and the important bilateral relationship between Mexico and the United States, the Consul General of the United States in Matamoros, Yolanda A. Parra and the Consul General of Mexico in Brownsville, Juan Carlos Cué met in mediation of the Gateway International Bridge in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
During the meeting, both consuls highlighted the importance of reopening international bridges for fully vaccinated documented non-essential travelers and how it will strengthen commercial and tourist ties. The consuls celebrated the opening by endorsing that our countries are partners, neighbors and friends.
Both consuls invite travelers who plan to visit the United States for tourism purposes or visit friends or family, bring their visa to have a complete COVID-19 vaccination schedule and present proof of their vaccination when requested by the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer.
