Well, it looks like we are in for a cold Christmas. Doesn’t look like a white one, but it will be a bit chilly out there. It looks like most of the outdoor Christmas celebrations are done and parks and cities chose the right weekends to have parades and other activities before this run of cold weather. There are several cities that still have their Christmas events happening – McAllen, Brownsville, and Hidalgo – throughout the end of the month. Be sure to check them out if you have time.
I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have a blessed time with family and/or friends.
I look forward to our traditions of sharing the story of Jesus, reading the scriptures as a family, having a great dinner, and of course treats. We will also be celebrating with our traditional Delia’s tamales, homemade hot cocoa, and veggies – a tradition that started with my husband’s grandmother that we hope our children continue.
We have been thrilled to see all the celebrations at Valley parks this season. We are slowly following more and more parks on Facebook and get the pleasure of seeing everything you are doing in that format. This also gives us an opportunity to contact the parks and ask for more information and photos.
It looks like y’all have a lot of fun out there. We have seen photos of Christmas decorations, golf cart parades, sing-a-longs, cookie exchanges, parties and other gatherings. I love seeing you gather and enjoy each other’s company, especially during this time of year.
We have also seen photos of what you are doing for your community. These photos bring joy to my heart as I see you getting involved with local organizations, schools, the food bank, cities, and others. There have been so many happy faces in the photos – from both the giver and receiver.
Thank you for sharing these moments with us.
If you have anything else you want to share, please send your information to us. We want to know what you are doing in your park. Write something up, send us a photo, let us know what fun you are having. We love to hear from you!
