It’s good to see you back in the Valley. We had a busy week visiting with people and they are so appreciative of having you back in town. The parks are filling up their calendars with activities, shows, and dances as they try to make sure they have something for you to do during your stay.

We are getting more traffic in our office as well. It’s fun to see the new faces, and the familiar faces. It’s fun to talk to people we haven’t seen in six months, or longer. We love hearing about your travels, and especially why you come back to the great Rio Grande Valley.

As we get on with our season, we hope to highlight you, your parks, and events more in the paper. We hope to see more of your faces and activities as well. We look forward to being right there with you for some, too. We know it takes a bit for things to really pick up at the parks, but we are seeing schedules getting fuller already. By the time January comes around, you’ll have to make some hard decisions about where you want to go and who you want to see.

With the holidays just around the corner, parks are getting ready, not only by decorating and holding their own special holiday events, but also by holding special fundraisers, collecting donations, making crafts for organizations, and more. You do plenty for your park and for the communities you live in. We love showing our readers what you are doing for others. Please send us a snapshot or two so we can share what you are doing at your park.

And don’t forget, we put all of our stories and photos online. Our website is easy to navigate, and you can find each individual story separately either on our home page or under the sections tab. So, if you find one you like, or a story about your park, that you want to share – just copy the link and share it with your friends or on Facebook.

Just about everything you see in our paper is online. You can also find our classifieds, events calendar, and the always favorite parks calendar that lists activities in the parks that are open to the public.

Under issues you will find the digital editions from this year, and the last two years. You will also find links to our Park Directory and the RGV Visitors Guide that give you information about all the interesting places to see in the Valley.

If you want to find something from year’s past, we have our full archive from 1987 to 2025 in bounded books at the office. If there is something you are looking for from years past, just ask and we will see if we can find it for you. We love looking back at the stories we have done through the years.

If you have story ideas, or there is a location you want to know more about, let us know. Send us an email at news@wintertexantimes.com.
