Wintertainers™ gather for benefit concert

20180104 Country Rusty Rierson webThree male vocalists are getting together to perform a free Country Gospel Benefit Concert next weekend. The Wintertainers™ will be performing to raise funds for the His Hands Ministries in Penitas. The men performing will be Curt James, Rick McEwen and Rusty Rierson.

They will be performing on Friday, March 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. A will offering will be taken for the organization. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the show. Ice cream and cake will be available after the show. The event will be held at His Hands Ministries at 17214 Salida Del Sol St. in Penitas.

Dance was the theme for MWE concert

Celebrate Texas Independence Day

20220305 Alamo Texas Independence Day HMoering DSC 1037 webTexas celebrates their Independence Day on March 2. It is the day Texas adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836. The document was signed by 59 delegates and it officially declared independence from Mexico and created the Republic of Texas.

In San Antonio, you can find events being held from February 23 through Thursday, March 6. These events honor the 13-day siege leading up to the Alamo. They bring the Alamo’s unique story to life, inspire visitors, and honor all those who lived, fought, and died at the Alamo. Charro Days starts this weekend

20180215 Charro Days 6906329 webBrownsville is getting ready to celebrate Charro Days. The multi-day event will take place from February 20 through March 9.
The annual fiesta commemorates the Mexican heritage of the area on both sides of the Rio Grande and is named in honor of the “Charro,” that dashing Mexican gentleman cowboy. The first Charro Days was celebrated in 1938 and features parades, dances, races, a bullfight, rodeo, concert, a grand ball, and Noche Mexicana. Residents and visitors dressed in the traditional costumes of Mexico and honored the Mexican “Charros.”
