Tickets on sale for UTRGV SPI Battle on the Beach

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Friday that single-session tickets for the inaugural UTRGV South Padre Island Battle on the Beach, featuring men’s basketball games between UTRGV and Northern Arizona as well as Texas Tech and Incarnate Word on November 20th at the South Padre Island Convention Centre, can now be purchased at UTRGVTickets.com.
UTRGV will face Northern Arizona at 1 p.m. Texas Tech plays Incarnate Word at 4 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and include admission to both games.

If you thought that the best live concerts of 2021 have already taken place, then you must not have heard that Mannheim Steamroller Christmas is making a live appearance at the McAllen Performing Arts Center. They will be performing on Monday, December 27th at 7 p.m.
The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce has begun hosting “La Cebollita” Mid-Valley Farmers Market. The event will be located downtown Weslaco at 501 S. Kansas Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the last Saturday of each month. The next one will be held on November 27th.
The 28th Annual Shrimp Cookoff & Seafood Festival is scheduled to be held on site in the parking lot of Sutherlands in Port Isabel on Saturday, November 6. Dozens of professional and amateur chefs will be preparing their favorite recipes for thousands of festival attendees at a modest fee. Each contestant’s recipe will be judged on appearance, aroma, and taste by a select panel of judges.
