Leslie Blasing will be hosting the WinterFest and Expo next week on Monday, February 13th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday, February 14th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held at the South Padre Island Convention Center.
There is no entrance fee to the event, but Blasing is highlighting the local food pantries by collecting canned foods. Donation is not required, but greatly appreciated.
The Event honors an era – 1964 to 1973. There will be a special salute and musical tribute to Vietnam Veterans. There will also be guest speakers from the era. As last year, Blasing said the speakers are incredible, have some connection to Vietnam, and great things to share.
Last year, Blasing had Custom Canines, a nurse from Saigon, and others that served in Vietnam give presentations about their experiences and where they are now.
Also at the event will be the All Valley Karaoke Contest Finals, a mini museum, concessions by Karla’s Katering, dancing, corny Corn Hole Competition, vendors and demonstrations. Door prizes will be given away every half hour.
Courtesy golf cart rides will be given from the parking lot to the front doors of the convention center.
The event will also feature music and entertainment provided by Leslie Blasing, Geoff Clifton, and Rick McEwen.
A Valentines’s Day Dinner and Dance has been added to this year’s event on Tuesday, February 14th. The dinner and dance are $25 per person. Tickets for the event are on sale right now at any of Leslie’s scheduled appearances. Karla’s Katering will be featuring a Taste of Italy for the event. A cash bar will be available. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the event. Dinner is from 6 to 7 p.m. with the dance from 7 to 9 p.m.
